In June 2022, Hoang Thai Marine in collaboration with PTSC Thanh Hoa has been conducting the Annual Special Surveys Program for Crude Oil Pipeline (COP) of Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant (NSRP) according to Vietnam National Technical Regulation of Subsea Pipeline Systems and NSRP requirements.
The COP is used to load crude oil from Single Point Mooring (SPM) to the NSRP Plant, COP consists of two 48″ pipelines with length around 35 kilometers. Total pipelines survey length of 72 kilometers, water depths along the subsea section range from zero to 30 meters, a period of 20 days.
Hoang Thai has completed an entirely COP inspection by side scan sonar and multibeam echosounder survey method, using its ROV together with diver, under the witness of the Vietnam Register’s representative. The ROV was remotely monitored from a control system station on board the Hoang Thai’s own vessel named “HT Pioneer”.
The introduction of unmanned technology undoubtedly minimizes risks and survey duration. With less human activity on the sea and cut-downed fuel consumption, Hoang Thai fulfills its goal to support sustainable economic development.
